The upcoming installation of Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin, as the fifth Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK) on Saturday, March 2, 2024, has garnered congratulations from Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja (Uniabuja). Na’Allah expressed his heartfelt congratulations, deeming the appointment well-deserved.
In a press release issued by Dr. Habib Yakoob, the acting Director of Information and University Relations at Uniabuja, Na’Allah conveyed his confidence that the emir’s selection by the university underscores his outstanding leadership qualities.
Na’Allah remarked, “On behalf of the entire University of Abuja community, I wish to congratulate you on your appointment as the fifth Chancellor of Bayero University Kano and your forthcoming investiture on Saturday, 2nd March, 2024.”
He continued to state that the appointment and investiture serve as a clear affirmation of the emir’s exceptional leadership attributes, steadfast commitment to education, and esteemed contributions to the academic community.
Highlighting Sulu-Gambari’s distinguished service and dedication to the advancement of knowledge, Na’Allah emphasized the emir’s proven track record of leadership abilities, asserting that these qualities played a significant role in shaping the educational landscape of both his immediate community and the nation at large.
It is noted that Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, serving as the 11th Emir of Ilorin, previously held the position of Chancellor at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, and the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, before his recent redeployment to BUK, where he is set to assume the role of Chancellor.
