“ZEMURRAY-STONE POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES”
The Stone Center for Latin American Studies at Tulane University, comprising a core community of over 70 faculty members spanning a diverse range of disciplinary and professional fields, is accepting applications for a post-doctoral fellowship for the 2024-2025 academic year.
The Zemurray-Stone Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Latin American Studies aims to nurture the professional growth of talented scholars and specialists, enhancing the vibrant research environment at the Stone Center for Latin American Studies and promoting creative collaboration within the Center’s research community. We are seeking candidates engaged in scholarly or creative work related to existing areas of institutional strength. Fellows are expected to actively participate in the intellectual life of the Center, serve on various Center subcommittees, and contribute to the conceptualization and development of innovative projects and events during their residency. Fellows may also teach a class or seminar or engage in the planning of Center conferences during their fellowship year. The post-doctoral fellowship is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year.
Eligibility:
Applications are welcome from scholars and practitioners working in the fields of media, sound, and cultural studies, addressing transnational approaches, the study of modes and genres, the interface of film history and theory, and the centrality of intermediality and affective modes for the production and circulation of media in the Americas. These areas and frameworks were pioneered by the late Professor Ana M. López at Tulane.
Applicants who are ABD (All But Dissertation) must complete their Ph.D. by May 2024.
Benefits:
Fellowships are one-year, residential, full-time appointments with a stipend of $48,940 and benefits. Travel and moving expenses are not supported.
