Applications are now open for the 2024 UNESCO World Heritage Young Professionals Forum.

The UNESCO World Heritage Education Programme, in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India, is hosting the World Heritage Young Professionals Forum 2024 in Delhi, India. This exciting event takes place from July 14th to 23rd, 2024, and offers a unique opportunity for young professionals to:

  • Develop Expertise: Enhance your skills and knowledge in protecting, preserving, and promoting natural and cultural World Heritage sites.
  • Network with Peers: Connect with passionate young professionals from around the globe and build lasting professional relationships.
  • Explore Opportunities: Discuss and explore ways to implement the World Heritage Convention in the 21st century.
  • Gain In-Depth Knowledge: Delve into the concepts of World Heritage and Sustainable Development.
  • Learn from Local Experts: Familiarize yourself with India’s rich heritage and its management practices.

Who Can Apply?

  • Age: Between 23 and 32 years old.
  • Experience: Possess experience in a field relevant to World Heritage, such as conservation, archaeology, architecture, urban planning, restoration, art history, tourism, climate change, or digital technology.
  • Motivation: Demonstrate a strong commitment to implementing the forum’s outcomes in your home country.
  • Community Engagement: Be passionate about promoting community involvement in World Heritage site management.
  • Availability: Be able to attend the entire forum.
  • Language: Be proficient in English, as the forum will be conducted entirely in this language.

Selection Criteria:

In addition to the general eligibility requirements, the selection committee will consider the following factors:

  • Geographical diversity of participants.
  • Gender equality.
  • A variety of professional backgrounds.
  • Ability to share learnings with your home country or institution.
  • Existing knowledge and experience in World Heritage site management practices.
