Applications are now open for the 2024 TotalEnergies Startupper of the Year Challenge. The Startupper of the year Challenge by TotalEnergies is back in 32 African countries for a special edition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Company!
Calling all young African entrepreneurs with innovative ideas!
The TotalEnergies Startupper of the Year Challenge is back for its 4th edition, offering €50,000 in prizes and valuable support to young people who are passionate about making a positive impact.
Are you eligible?
- You are between 18 and 35 years old (born between May 1, 1988 and April 30, 2006).
- You are a resident of one of the participating African countries (listed below).
- You have either:
- A startup under 3 years old, registered in your country after April 30, 2020.
- A well-developed business idea with the potential to launch within a few months.
Participating Countries:
- North Africa: Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia
- West Africa: Ivory Coast, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Ghana, Togo
- Central Africa: Gabon, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea
- East Africa & Indian Ocean: Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Mauritius, Madagascar, Mayotte, La Réunion
- Southern Africa: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Angola, Namibia, Malawi, South Africa
Challenge Categories:
- Innov’Up: This category rewards the best overall startups or business ideas, regardless of specific focus. One winner will be chosen per participating country, and four additional international winners will be selected in the Power’Up category (see below).
- Cycl’Up: This category recognizes startups or business ideas that promote the principles of the circular economy, minimizing waste and maximizing resource use.
- Power’Up: This category highlights startups or ideas focused on promoting, creating, producing, or using sustainable and affordable energy solutions.
