VICE-CHANCELLOR ANNOUNCES 38TH CONVOCATION WITH 180 STUDENTS ATTAINING FIRST-CLASS DEGREE AT BUK

Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, the vice chancellor of Bayero University Kano, announced that 180 students from the university will be graduating with first-class degrees at the forthcoming 38th convocation. This revelation was made during the pre-convocation press briefing in Kano on Monday. The vice chancellor also mentioned that 317 and 3,770 students will be conferred with doctorate and master’s degrees, respectively.

During the convocation, Aliko Dangote, Africa’s wealthiest man, is scheduled to deliver a lecture on the “Role of private sector in building a sustainable knowledge economy in Nigeria.”

Additionally, honorary doctorate awards will be presented to Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and the President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adeshina.

Professor Abbas stated, “This year, we have a total of 11,284 students who will graduate and receive their degrees.”
