THE JOINT ADMISSIONS AND MATRICULATION BOARD (JAMB) HAS ANNOUNCED THAT THE UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION (UTME)-MOCK WILL BE CONDUCTED ON MARCH 7, AND CANDIDATES ARE PERMITTED TO USE PENCILS FOR THE EXAMINATION.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) announced that the 2024 Mock-UTME will take place on Thursday. According to Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the JAMB spokesperson, candidates participating in the 2024 Mock-UTME are allowed to bring an ordinary HP pencil for numerical analysis if they prefer.
Dr. Benjamin emphasized the clarification in response to numerous inquiries from candidates and the public regarding the permissibility of HP pencils in the examination hall.
He explained, “It should be noted that the Board had hitherto prohibited the use of pencils and other banned materials in view of the nefarious ends that these materials are put.”
However, the Board has now approved the use of ordinary HP pencils during the upcoming Mock-UTME and the main examination scheduled to commence on Friday, April 19, 2024.
Candidates are advised to bring only one pencil to their respective examination centers as specified, ensuring that they do not possess any other prohibited items.
