STEINBECK FELLOWS PROGRAM
The Steinbeck Fellowship program offers a one-year fellowship for emerging writers from any age and background to work on a substantial writing project while residing at SJSU. It includes a $15,000 stipend, the chance to engage with fellow writers, faculty, and graduate students, and the opportunity to present ongoing work through a public reading each semester during the fellowship. Residence in the San José, CA area is mandatory. This fellowship is open to creative writers, encompassing fiction, drama, creative nonfiction, and biography. However, applications in poetry will not be considered.
