Siemens Stiftung is seeking visionary enterprises and organizations to participate in the 2024 E-Mobility 4 Impact Call. This initiative aims to accelerate the electrification of transportation in Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Siemens Stiftung is looking for groundbreaking solutions that address key challenges in the emerging e-mobility sector across these four African nations. They are particularly interested in pilot projects that contribute to a sustainable and low-carbon future for transportation.

Whether you are a single enterprise or part of a collaborative effort, Siemens Stiftung welcomes your application. They encourage proposals that focus on improving the acceptability, accessibility, and affordability of e-mobility solutions.
Focus Areas: Overcoming Key Hurdles
Your project can address any of the following areas:
- Acceptability: Develop user-centered solutions (products, services, or business models) that cater to customer preferences and needs, fostering wider adoption of e-mobility.
- Accessibility: Ensure your solution is inclusive by adapting products, services, or business models to serve diverse customer segments.
- Affordability: Achieve a balance between cost-effectiveness and value delivery, making e-mobility solutions accessible to a broader audience.
Who Can Apply?
This call is open to enterprises actively operating within the e-mobility ecosystem in Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, or Tanzania. You should demonstrate market experience in one of these countries and be actively working on addressing challenges related to e-mobility or its supporting sectors.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible, your enterprise must:
- Be registered in the country where the research project will take place.
- Have a minimum viable product (MVP) for your solution. (Photos, blueprints, or protocols are mandatory.) If your project focuses on crucial e-mobility ecosystem services, a demonstrable track record in your respective sector is necessary.
- Have paying users and clients for your existing solution (demonstrated through financial statements or management accounts).
- Have a strong commitment to positive impact, as reflected in your mission statement.
Benefits of Participating
Selected enterprises will be awarded a contract for up to 15 months to conduct a pilot project. The contract value ranges from USD 30,000 to USD 75,000 for individual applications and up to USD 125,000 for joint applications. Projects with financial or in-kind contributions matching the project value, or those proposed by consortia of at least two enterprises, will be viewed favorably.
