“ROAD PROJECT INSPECTION BY WIKE; APPEALS TO MOTORISTS FOR PATIENCE.”

Over the weekend, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the FCT, conducted inspections on numerous ongoing road projects in the national capital. During his visit, he appealed to motorists to bear with the inconveniences caused by the ongoing construction works.

Wike emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s decision to transform Abuja into a construction site is aimed at swiftly implementing his Renewed Hope Agenda in the lives of residents, even before his first anniversary in office.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress of the projects, Wike commended the contractors for their commitment and the pace of work. He highlighted that some projects are nearing completion, citing an interchange in Wuye that is 85% ready.

The Minister assured that no project would be abandoned, emphasizing that the priorities have been outlined in the statutory budget for 2024, set to be submitted to the National Assembly upon President Tinubu’s return from Qatar.

Wike promised visible changes in the FCT by May, particularly in road resurfacing in the city center, including areas like Maitama, Asokoro, and Wuse. He attributed the bustling construction activity in Abuja to the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing that the government is focused on utilizing the support provided by President Tinubu.

Regarding revenue generation, Wike stressed the administration’s dedication to utilizing taxes for the development of areas, ensuring transparency and accountability in resource utilization.

Earlier, Engr. Shehu Hadi Ahmad, the Executive Secretary of the FCDA, disclosed that the administration is currently constructing 11 kilometers of the 76-kilometer Kuje-Gwagwalada-Rubochi-Abaji-Nasarawa six-lane highway.
