REACH OXFORD SCHOLARSHIP

Students should be aware that they must submit an admission application to the University before being eligible for consideration for a Reach Oxford Scholarship. The University cannot review scholarship applications from students who have not yet received an offer for a place at Oxford. The University does not take responsibility for the content of external sites advertising the scheme and encourages applicants to review the following details to confirm their eligibility.

Several Reach Oxford scholarships (previously known as Oxford Student Scholarships) are available to students from low-income countries. These individuals, due to political or financial constraints, or the absence of suitable educational facilities, are unable to pursue a degree in their home countries.

Level of study: Undergraduate
Year of study: New students
Subject:  All subjects in the course listing, except medicine
College:  Not all colleges are able to offer Reach Oxford Scholarships every year. If you are accepted by a college that is not participating in the scheme, this will not prevent you from applying for and being awarded a scholarship. If your application is successful, arrangements will be made to transfer you between colleges.
Other criteria: This scheme is only suitable for candidates who have received an offer and who are of the highest academic ability. Financial need, social commitment and lack of ability to study for a degree in their own country are also major criteria for selection. Applicants should be intending to return to their country following their studies. Priority will be given to students who have not studied at undergraduate level before.

If you have secured a place for an undergraduate course at the University for the 2024 entry, submit your online scholarship application by 12 noon (UK time) on February 7, 2024. Please note that the application deadline for the 2024 entry has already passed.

Additional Information:

  • Scholarship recipients are expected to submit an annual report detailing their academic, social activities, and achievements at the University.
  • Continued receipt of the award in subsequent years depends on satisfactory academic progress.
  • Applicants should be mindful of the intense competition for the scheme, and the University lacks extra funding for candidates not selected for a scholarship.
  • If you hold an offer for deferred entry for an undergraduate course at Oxford and wish to apply for a scholarship, submit your scholarship application in January of the year you intend to start your Oxford course (e.g., January 2024 if your offer is for October 2024).
  • For applicants to Oxford’s Astrophoria Foundation Year Programme seeking scholarship support for their subsequent undergraduate degree course, apply for the scholarship in January of the year you plan to start your undergraduate degree (e.g., January 2025 for progression in October 2025). Confirmation of scholarship eligibility will be provided to students enrolled in their Foundation Year. Applications for undergraduate scholarships are only considered once.
