PRIZE ACADEMY AMERICAN IN BERLIN

The academy invites applications from both emerging and established scholars, writers, and professionals interested in independent study in Berlin. Annually, around 24 Berlin Prizes are awarded. Previous awardees encompass historians, economists, poets, novelists, journalists, legal scholars, anthropologists, musicologists, and public policy experts. Fellowships typically span an academic semester, occasionally extending to a full academic year. Benefits comprise round-trip airfare, partial board, a $5,000 monthly stipend, and lodging at or near the Academy’s lakeside Hans Arnhold Center in Berlin’s Wannsee district. Fellowships are exclusively available to individuals permanently based in the U.S.
