OADC ISANDO ACHIEVES TIER-III DESIGN CERTIFICATION BY THE UPTIME INSTITUTE

This certification is a significant milestone in OADC’s mission to establish and operate world-class, client-centric data centre facilities in South Africa and across the continent.

The Tier-III design certification signifies that OADC Isando has been engineered to ensure high availability and redundancy. Key features include multiple distribution paths for power and cooling, as well as concurrently maintainable infrastructure. OADC Isando spans over 3,000 square meters of technical space with a site load capacity of 12MW. As a truly open-access and carrier-neutral facility, it is strategically located adjacent to major fibre routes, providing a gateway to an extensive selection of onsite providers and metro connectivity to key data centres in the Johannesburg area.

Digital Infrastructure in South Africa
OADC offers a unique core-to-edge proposition within South Africa, encompassing four Tier-III facilities and 30 edge data centres. These facilities provide open-access to over 20,000km of terrestrial fibre and 16 terabits-per-second (Tbps) capable national and metro networks. They also connect to eight subsea systems linking South Africa to Europe and Asia through multiple routes.
