NATURENEWS AIMS TO PLANT 5 BILLION TREES BY 2030

NatureNews, the leading environmental newspaper in Africa, is poised to transform the reforestation campaign in Nigeria. The newspaper recently introduced a groundbreaking plan to plant 5 billion trees by the year 2030.

During the third-anniversary lecture held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja on Tuesday, Aliu Akoshile, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of NatureNews, unveiled this ambitious afforestation initiative. The lecture, titled “Climate Change and Energy Transition in Nigeria,” was delivered by Mr. Lamin Barrow, the Director General of Nigeria Country Office at the African Development Bank Group.

Mr. Akoshile emphasized that the “NaijaGreenProject 2030,” the innovative afforestation initiative, resulted from nearly two years of consultations with key stakeholders and intensive brainstorming by the NatureNews editorial team.
