MINISTRY DECLARES APPOINTMENT OF MANAGERS FOR LEARNING COMMUNITY IN 3MTT INITIATIVE

After the declaration of the N1 billion partnership with IHS Nigeria  In support of the 3MTT Learning Community, the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy has unveiled the appointed managers for the 3MTT Community across all 36 states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The designation of Learning Community Managers represents a noteworthy achievement in our endeavors to empower the technological talents of Nigeria.

These individuals will assume a vital role in overseeing and aiding participants in the 3MTT program as they utilize the Learning Platform crafted by IHS Nigeria.

With their assistance, 3MTT participants will receive the necessary support to navigate the learning platform and enhance their overall learning experience.

Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovations & Digital Economy, conveyed his enthusiasm for the collaborative effort, emphasizing the essential need for significant collaboration between the public and private sectors in the national digital transformation journey.

This partnership with IHS Nigeria marks the initial step in a series of collaborations aimed at realizing our objective of making Nigeria a net exporter of tech talent, as outlined in the Strategic Blueprint.

As part of IHS Nigeria’s commitment, the company pledges to cover the salaries of the 37 dedicated learning community managers nationwide. Additionally, access to the IHS Learning Platform will play a crucial role in supporting 3MTT talent development initiatives.

Mohamad Darwish, the CEO of IHS Nigeria, highlighted the company’s alignment with the Federal Government on the 3MTT initiative, in line with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy’s Strategic Plan.

Darwish further emphasized that the initiative corresponds with one of their sustainability pillars, which is Education.

He elaborated on the significance of investing in digital skills, stating that it contributes to building a skilled and qualified talent pool, fostering job creation, innovation, business growth, and economic diversification.

This collaboration exemplifies IHS’s ongoing commitment to nation-building, complemented by their recent achievement of rolling out over 10,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. This initiative aims to enhance the quality and accessibility of broadband and next-generation digital services for individuals, businesses, and organizations throughout the country.
