MEETING BETWEEN OBASANJO AND PETER OBI WITH CHIEF IMAM OF EGALAND.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, convened on Sunday with Chief Imam Sheikh Sa’ad Bamgbola of Egbaland.

In celebration of Bamgbola’s 90th birthday, Obasanjo, accompanied by Peter Obi, Sarafa Tunji Ishola (the immediate past Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom), and Ralph Nwosu (National Chairman of African Democratic Congress – ADC), paid a visit to extend their felicitations.

The former president commended Sheikh Sa’ad Bamgbola for providing inspirational leadership to millions of faithful Muslims. Obasanjo acknowledged the Chief Imam’s efforts in promoting understanding and unity among people of different religions and ethnic backgrounds.

Obasanjo explained the spontaneous nature of the visit, mentioning that he encountered Peter Obi on his way to a church thanksgiving service and invited him to join. The National Chairman of ADC and others also joined the visit to celebrate the occasion.
