The James B. Steele Fellowship in Investigative Business Journalism supports the development of a new cohort of business journalists, equipping them with advanced investigative skills and business acumen necessary to serve and inform their audience effectively. This fellowship targets early-career journalists aspiring to specialize in business journalism, providing them with a valuable opportunity to kick-start their careers. It welcomes applications from both U.S. and international candidates. Over the course of one year, fellows pursue a master’s degree at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, choosing between two options: Master of Arts in Investigative Journalism (MAIJ) or Master of Mass Communications (MMC).
