ITTO offers fellowships aimed at enhancing human resource development and bolstering professional expertise in tropical forestry and related fields among member countries. The program’s objective is to advance the sustainable management of tropical forests, optimize the utilization and processing of tropical timber, and enhance economic insights into international tropical timber trade. It caters to young and mid-career professionals from over 49 countries employed in various sectors such as government, universities, research institutions, civil society, and the private sector, facilitating their professional growth and career advancement. Primarily focused on short-term activities like attending international conferences, training courses, and study tours, the program also supports the development of manuals and monographs and provides modest grants for post-graduate studies. Moreover, the ITTO Fellowship Programme actively promotes the capacity development of women in forestry. The maximum fellowship grant amount is US$10,000.
