INITIATIVE UNVEILED BY SHETTIMA TO GENERATE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Vice President Kashim Shettima has launched the Outsource To Nigeria Initiative (OTNI) and inaugurated the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) center in a move geared towards creating numerous job opportunities in the country.
Addressing the audience during the unveiling of the initiative in Gombe, Shettima emphasized that the OTNI represents a strategic collaboration between the public and private sectors, aiming to generate millions of jobs and propel Nigeria’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and IT-enabled services sector to unprecedented growth.
Shettima highlighted that the OTNI will serve as a connection point between global companies and the abundant talents in Nigeria. He stated, “This initiative marks a strategic leap forward, positioning Nigeria as an emerging outsourcing powerhouse ready to make an indelible mark on the global economic landscape. Outsourcing, as an economic strategy, is not just about efficiency; it’s a profound recognition of our interconnectedness in the global economy.”
Pointing out that the global BPO industry is valued at over $250 billion, Shettima aims to position Nigeria as a top destination for large companies seeking operational optimization.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya also commented on the occasion, stating that the commissioning of the Gombe BPO center, in collaboration with Outsource Global, marks a transformative journey towards positioning Gombe as a premier destination for business process outsourcing in Nigeria.
