INAUGURATES COMMITTEE TO HALT GRAINS EXPORTING AND HOARDING, YOBE TAKES ACTION AGAINST INFLATION

The government of Yobe State has established a committee comprising 24 members to put an end to the exportation of grains outside the country and tackle the issue of hoarding within the state.

During the committee’s inauguration at the Government House in Damaturu, the state capital, Deputy Governor Idi Barde Gubana emphasized that the government, in a prompt response to the desires and aspirations of its citizens, cannot permit such adverse developments to persist without intervention.

Barde Gubana stated, “Some dishonest individuals are actively attempting to disrupt our peace by inflicting additional hardship on the people through unnecessary bulk purchases and hoarding of essential food items.”

He further explained that the committee would collaborate with security agencies to sell procured grains to the public at subsidized prices. Additionally, it will provide recommendations to the government regarding any other essential measures to address the challenge of food insecurity in the state.

Deputy Governor Hon Idi Barde Gubana will chair the committee, with Baba Malam Wali, the Secretary to the State Government, serving as the committee’s secretary.
