IIM UNITED KINGDOM AT 47TH INVESTITURE HIGHLIGHTS THE POWER OF INTELLIGENT TECHNOLOGIES

The annual convention and 47th induction/investiture ceremony of the Institute of Information Management (IIM) United Kingdom took place successfully on March 9, 2024, at the Wesley London Euston venue.

Themed “AI Renaissance: Harnessing the Potential of Intelligent Technologies,” the event brought together distinguished professionals, thought leaders, and industry experts across various sectors.

The convention commenced with an engaging welcome address and keynote speech by Amb. (Dr) Oyedokun Ayodeji Oyewole, the esteemed International President of IIM Africa, setting the stage for insightful discussions and collaborative engagements.

A notable highlight was the inauguration and oath-taking ceremony led by Acting Vice President of IIM United Kingdom Chapter, Prof. Rotimi Jaiyesimi, FIIM, who assumed the role following recent appointment by the IIM Africa Board.

A significant announcement was made during the convention regarding the launch of a single global annual convention starting in 2025, aimed at uniting all IIM Africa Global Chapters for a streamlined, impactful gathering.

The event attracted a diverse array of attendees, including dignitaries, traditional rulers, industry leaders, and professionals, fostering discussions on key themes such as the transformative potential of artificial intelligence and the ethical implications of intelligent technologies.

Induction of new members into the Honorary Fellowship Grade and Professional Fellowship Grade, as well as the conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degree Awards in collaboration with the International University of Information Management (IUIM), added prestige to the occasion.
