Application Deadline:

The James Dyson Award is your chance to make a name for yourself as an inventor. As well as winning a significant cash prize, you could generate media exposure to kick-start your career, earn the esteem of your peers – and perhaps gain the confidence to launch your own business.

The Task:

Create a solution to a problem using innovative design. We’re seeking designers who think outside the box to develop products that offer improved functionality.

Engineers employ an iterative design approach. The judges, particularly James Dyson, favor designs that utilize clever yet simple engineering principles to address distinct problems.

In addition to demonstrating your project’s technical feasibility, it’s important to show its commercial viability. Include any research you’ve conducted on manufacturing costs and retail prices.
