GOGETTAZ AGRIPRENEUR PRIZE COMPETITION 2024 FOR YOUNG AFRICAN ENTREPRENEURS (USD 100,000 CASH PRIZE)
Application Deadline: June 10, 2024
Applications are now open for the 2024 GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition. Africa’s food sector faces mounting challenges in climate resilience, food security, and nutrition. The need for groundbreaking solutions has never been greater.
The entrepreneur must be 35 years old or younger at the time of submission and legally recognized as an adult in their country of nationality. They must hold nationality from an African Union member country and be the founder or co-founder actively involved in their venture’s operations and leadership. Additionally, they must have no criminal record related to corruption, tax evasion, financial impropriety, felony, or other offenses.
The venture must be legally registered in an African Union member country or have initiated registration before July 1, 2024. It should be headquartered in an African Union member country and designed for financial sustainability, whether as a for-profit or non-profit entity generating revenue without dependence on donor funding. The venture must contribute to the agrifood sector through innovation or process improvement, encompassing various aspects of the agrifood value chain.
Prizes totaling $100,000 will be awarded to two winners, each receiving a grand prize of $50,000. The impact awards will recognize ventures making significant contributions to improving rural livelihoods, nutrition, climate solutions, technology, gender impact, natural resources conservation, and job creation.
Winners will receive facilitated participation at the Agribusiness Deal Room and an invitation to the 2025 GoGettaz Africa Leadership Program. One female and one male entrepreneur will each win $50,000 for the most innovative and scalable business ventures.
Top GoGettaz agripreneurs will attend the Africa Food Systems Forum Summit in Kigali, Rwanda, in September, where they can pitch their businesses at the GoGettaz Finals and participate in the AFSF Agribusiness Deal Room, connecting with potential investors, partners, and collaborators.
Participants may also apply for the exclusive 6-month GoGettaz Africa Leadership Program, providing personalized support through coaching, peer-to-peer sessions, and workshops led by industry leaders to foster continuous growth and development beyond the competition.
