GBSN AFRICA BUSINESS CONCEPT CHALLENGE 2024 FOR AFRICAN UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS.

GBSN is delighted to announce the 4th annual Africa Business Concept Challenge (ABCC), an online business concept competition designed for African undergraduate and graduate students. This competition tasks student teams with creating a viable business concept that tackles a locally relevant challenge or problem related to Agenda 2063, and inclusive and sustainable development.
The Africa Business Concept Challenge aims to support young people from Africa who possess an entrepreneurial mindset, a desire to serve their community, and exhibit the following values. Emphasizing responsible business practices, the competition identifies promising young individuals for mentorship and potential investment.

Projects:
Student teams will undergo a three-phased project development process, during which their business concepts will be assessed and evaluated by designated Investor Experts. Valuable feedback will be provided to enhance their business concepts. Projects must properly identify and define a local challenge and propose a viable business concept to address it. All projects must cover:
– A community challenge or requirement
– A business solution
– A feasible business concept
– Implementation and the impact of the business solution

Registration Procedure:
– The challenge will be conducted virtually over a 5-week period.
– Teams should comprise two to five members, with at least two being current students at an African institution during the competition. Interdisciplinary teams are encouraged.
– Each team must designate a Captain responsible for communications with GBSN and registering the team.
– A Faculty Mentor must be assigned to each team upon registration, who will assist in guiding teams and enhancing the learning experience.
