FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS DEDICATED TO PROMOTING DEMOCRATIC ADVANCEMENT

Deadline: March 11, 2024 — Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) across the globe, dedicated to the advancement of democracy, are invited to submit proposals to the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

NED will provide grants to NGOs, including civic organizations, associations, independent media, and other similar entities.

The grant amounts for these NGOs will be contingent on the size and scope of the projects. On average, the grant duration is 12 months, with an approximate amount of $50,000.

NED is particularly interested in proposals from local, independent organizations for nonpartisan programs that aim to:

  • Promote and defend human rights and the rule of law
  • Support freedom of information and independent media
  • Strengthen democratic ideas and values
  • Promote accountability and transparency
  • Strengthen civil society organizations
  • Enhance democratic political processes and institutions
  • Promote civic education
  • Support democratic conflict resolution
  • Promote freedom of association
  • Strengthen a broad-based market economy

Organizations operating in newly established democracies, semi-authoritarian countries, highly repressive societies, and nations undergoing democratic transitions are eligible to apply.

The upcoming deadline for proposal submissions is March 11, 2024.
