FG: TINUBU WORKING TO LOWER LIVING COSTS, ENRICH CITIZENS

The Federal Government has stated that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is actively working to reduce the cost of living and increase the disposable income of Nigerians. According to the Minister, the administration is guided by the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to lay a robust and sustainable foundation for improving the lives of citizens.

Key Initiatives and Efforts:

  1. Economic and Financial Programs:
    • Consumer Credit Corporation: A landmark initiative aimed at enhancing consumer credit access.
    • Nigeria Education Loan Fund: Established to provide financial assistance for students.
    • Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas: An effort to promote alternative energy sources.
    • N200 Billion Presidential Grant and Students Loan Scheme: Financial support aimed at educational advancements.
  2. Agriculture and Food Security:
    • Dry Season Farming: An initiative to boost agricultural productivity.
    • Massive Fertilizer Distribution: Efforts to ensure farmers have the necessary resources to increase yield.
  3. Infrastructure Development:
    • Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund (RHIDF): A fund dedicated to the development of infrastructure.
    • Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme: A program focused on urban development and housing.
  4. Reforms and Policy Changes:
    • Electricity Sector Reforms: Aimed at improving the power supply and infrastructure.
    • Tax and Fiscal Policy Reforms: Efforts to create a more favorable economic environment.
    • Negotiations for a New National Minimum Wage: Discussions to establish a fair and livable minimum wage for workers.

The Minister emphasized that these policies and programs are designed to directly benefit and improve the livelihoods of millions of Nigerians. Additionally, President Tinubu’s administration is focused on attracting both local and foreign investment to further transform the nation’s infrastructure and economic landscape.

The commemoration of the administration’s first anniversary serves as an opportunity to present the government’s achievements. The event featured sectoral briefings by key ministers, including those from the ministries of Budget and National Planning, FCT, Youth Development, Steel Development, and Petroleum, among others.

The administration remains committed to delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to significantly reduce the cost of living and doing business in Nigeria, thereby ensuring that more money remains in the pockets of Nigerians.
