“FELLOWSHIP FOR ADVANCING SCIENCE JOURNALISM IN AFRICA, MIDDLE EAST”
Deadline: March 1, 2024 — Journalists have the opportunity to apply for a one-semester fellowship aimed at advancing science journalism in Africa and the Middle East.
This fellowship aims to enhance the skills of a journalist from Africa or the Middle East, enabling them to contribute to the development of high-quality science and health journalism in those regions while also highlighting regional advancements globally.
The fellowship includes benefits such as a $40,000 stipend for the semester, MIT health insurance, a $5,000 stipend to assist with start-up housing costs, and subsidized public transportation, among other perks.
Journalists based in Africa and the Middle East with a minimum of three years’ experience reporting on science, health, or environmental issues in the region are eligible to apply. Applicants may be reporters, writers, editors, producers, illustrators, filmmakers, or photojournalists.
The application deadline is March 1, 2024.
