Ekiti varsity unveils 70 new professors

The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Prof Edward Olanipekun, said on Wednesday that the university had promoted 70 academic staff of the institution to the rank of professor and 60 others to reader cadre.

Olanipekun, who spoke in Ado Ekiti during a chat with journalists, said the institution would soon begin new programmes, including Doctor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Dental Surgery.

“Very recently, to God be the glory, we promoted 70 academic staff to the rank of Professor and they cut across all departments and faculties.

“We equally promoted 60 to the position of readers, which is equivalent to Associate Professor. The council has approved all the promotions. What should interest you is that in the Faculty of Law, we now have seven professors from the two we had initially.
