DUTCH MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS/ORANGE CORNERS ENTERPRISING FUTURES SCHOLARSHIP 2024 (FULLY FUNDED TO ATTEND THE OYW2024 SUMMIT IN MONTRÉAL, CANADA.)

Applications are now open for the 2024 Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Orange Corners Enterprising Futures Scholarship.

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and Orange Corners, their youth entrepreneurship initiative, are dedicated to investing in education and youth employment, particularly in developing countries and fragile states. Their joint scholarship, in collaboration with One Young World, aims to provide young leaders and entrepreneurs from these regions with an opportunity to attend the annual One Young World Summit.

Objectives of the Enterprising Futures Scholarship:

  1. Empower young leaders to create sustainable job opportunities in selected regions.
  2. Leverage the potential of young people for widespread job creation, emphasizing their role in fostering prosperous societies.
  3. Raise awareness of youth unemployment and share best practices on this critical issue.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must be:

  • Aged 18–34 by the date of the One Young World 2024 Summit in September.
  • Actively engaged in youth employment and job creation, either as entrepreneurs or in a similar role, with a demonstrable track record.
  • Nationals and residents of specific countries, including Algeria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Mali, Mozambique, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Palestinian Territories, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Tunisia, Uganda. Candidates with refugee status are eligible.
  • Proficient in English, as the Summit and related programs will be conducted in English.
  • Available to participate in the program full-time between September 17 and 22, 2023, as well as pre- and post-program dates.

Benefits:

Enterprising Futures Scholars will receive:

  • Access to additional events organized by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Orange Corners.
  • Attendance at the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal, Canada, from September 18 to 21.
  • Hotel accommodation during the Summit dates.
  • One night of hotel accommodation (if required) for the visa application process.
  • Additional night pre-Summit (if needed).
  • Economy class travel to and from the Summit city.
  • Domestic travel costs to the airport for the international flight.
  • Travel costs for the visa application process (if required).
  • Visa costs, if applicable.
  • Catering, including breakfast at the hotel and lunch and dinner at the Summit.
  • Transportation between the Summit accommodation and venue.
  • Lifetime membership to the One Young World community.
