DOCTORATE SCHOLARSHIPS IN MEMBRANE ENGINEERING

Doctorate scholarships in membrane engineering: The Erasmus Mundus Doctorate in Membrane Engineering (EUDIME) aims to promote excellence, innovation, mobility, and multidisciplinarity in research approaches related to membrane science and technology at the international level.

The consortium comprises six leading partner institutions:

  • University of Twente (The Netherlands)
  • Institute of Chemical Technology Prague (Czech Republic)
  • University of Montpellier 2 and University Paul Sabatier-Toulouse (France)
  • University of Leuven (Belgium)
  • University of Calabria (Italy).

Additionally, ten associate partners are part of the EUDIME consortium:

  • University of Lisboa (Portugal)
  • University of Zaragoza (Spain)
  • RWTH Aachen (Germany)
  • The European Membrane Society
  • The European Membrane House
  • Five industrial companies renowned in the field: SAPIO S.r.L. and GVS S.p.A. (Italy), Veolia Environment (France), Alfa Laval A/S (Denmark), and Mikropur s.r.o. (Czech Republic).

Admission criteria:

Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree (120 ECTS) or a Single-Cycle Degree (minimum 240 ECTS) in Chemical Engineering or Bio-Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or an equivalent degree in a relevant field.

Candidates are required to provide information supporting their ability to apply and complete a doctoral program, including academic record, professional experience and qualifications, motivation letter, and letters of recommendation.

Proficiency in English is necessary, either through previous studies completed in English or by submitting the results of a recognized language proficiency test.

Scholarship application procedure:

Interested students must complete the EUDIME Application Form, including the following documents:

  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae in English
  • Copy of international passport or identification card
  • Certified copies of academic degrees and transcripts
  • Signed Letter of Motivation
  • Two Reference Letters
  • Letter of Research Statement
  • Official proof of English language proficiency
  • Any other qualifications relevant to the research areas covered in the course.

Doctorate fellowship:

  • No more than two doctoral candidates of the same nationality will receive an Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate (EMJD) fellowship in the same doctoral program.
  • Fellowships are granted for full-time enrollment, up to 36 months.
  • The amount is €2,800/month, totaling €100,800 for 36 months.
