BREAKING: FLUTTERWAVE APPOINTS DIPO FATOKUN, FORMER DIRECTOR AT CBN AS BOARD CHAIR

Flutterwave, a leading payments technology company, has appointed Dipo Fatokun as the new Chairman of Flutterwave Technologies Solutions Limited.

He brings a comprehensive regulatory understanding and supervisory experience to solidify Flutterwave’s dedication to upholding the highest regulatory, compliance, and governance standards.

Mr. Fatokun, with over 30 years of experience spanning banking services, finance, strategy, advisory, leadership, and management in both the public and private sectors, has been appointed as the new Board Chair at Flutterwave. During his tenure as a Director at CBN, he oversaw key initiatives such as the Cashless Nigeria Initiative, the Bank Verification Number project, and the Treasury Single Account (TSA) for the Federal Government, and the automation of foreign currency payments for the Central Bank’s internal and external customers. His expertise is expected to bolster Flutterwave’s commitment to best practices in the ecosystem as the company embarks on its next growth phase.

Also joining the board is Tosin Faniro-Dada, an esteemed ecosystem builder and investor empowering tech founders across Africa, appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director. With over 17 years of experience in finance, specializing in corporate banking and investment management, Tosin’s career began with auditing mutual and private equity funds at PwC in Boston. As a Partner at Breega, a fast-growing early-stage VC fund in Europe and Africa, she supports founders in addressing significant economic and social challenges. Her extensive knowledge and passion for the ecosystem are anticipated to contribute to Flutterwave’s role as a catalyst for tech startups across Nigeria.

Welcoming the new board members, Olugbenga “GB” Agboola, CEO and Founder of Flutterwave, emphasized the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest regulatory and operational standards. He expressed excitement about the addition of Dipo Fatokun and Tosin Faniro-Dada to the Flutterwave team, highlighting their combined experience and expertise. Mr. Fatokun has served on over 5 boards in the last decade and currently chairs the Board Audit and Governance Committee of United Capital Plc. Additionally, he serves as the managing partner at Jasfolim Consulting, contributing to the transformation of Nigeria’s payment system through advisory services for public and private companies.
