BIC AFRICA ONLINE ACCELERATION PROGRAMME 2024 FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS.

Applications are now open for the 2024 BIC Africa Online Acceleration Programme.

The fourth edition of the BIC Africa Acceleration Programme 2024 aims to support 20 women entrepreneurs, with 15 selected from specific country projects (Angola, Comoros, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Somalia) and 5 from other Sub-Saharan African countries. The primary goal is to assist these entrepreneurs in scaling their businesses while contributing to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The program is scheduled to run from April to July 2024, spanning four months. It will cater to established post-revenue women entrepreneurs with registered startups or businesses across various sectors and business types. The initiative will leverage online training modules, coaching sessions, individual exercises, and a networking session featuring women experts from Africa and Europe with relevant experience in supporting innovative entrepreneurs and startups.

BIC is in search of established women entrepreneurs eager to expand their businesses, potentially on an international scale, with the support of the BIC Africa Acceleration Programme. The program will select twenty women entrepreneurs to undergo a comprehensive online training course (6 modules), participate in group coaching sessions (4 sessions), attend networking events (2 sessions), join the BIC Africa Women Acceleration alumnae network, and gain access to various networking opportunities and market linkage events.

Qualifications for Preferred Candidates:

  • Female founder/owner of an already established business with an operational team and significant development potential.
  • Availability between April and July 2024 for the program, with a commitment of a maximum of 2 hours per week for online sessions, plus additional time for individual work and reflection.
  • Currently running a startup or company that has been registered for at least one year, with a focus on scaling up.
  • Demonstrate commitment to actively participate in all Acceleration Programme activities and contribute to future program developments.
  • Access to a reliable internet connection.
  • Proficient in the English language.

Programme Details:

The core program includes:

  • 6 online interactive training modules (each lasting 1.5 hours) covering topics such as Mission and Unique Value Proposition, Product Development, Business Model, Team & Partnerships, Finance, and Marketing.
  • 4 online group coaching sessions (each lasting 1.5 hours) covering topics such as Leadership and Influencing Skills, Mastering Personal and Business Finances, Storytelling and Pitch Training, and Time Management and Prioritization.
  • 2 Networking sessions at the beginning and end of the program.
  • Access to support documents and session recordings.
  • Integration into the BIC Africa Community of women entrepreneurs, with visibility on the BIC Africa website and participation in the LinkedIn group for this Community.
