“APPLYING TO THE 2024 GOI PEACE FOUNDATION ESSAY CONTEST: STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE”
The Goi Peace Foundation embodies the essence of Masahisa Goi (1916-1980), a Japanese spiritual teacher, philosopher, poet, and author dedicated to peace and humanity.
Requirements for the Goi Peace Foundation Essay Contest: To participate in the Goi Peace Foundation Essay Contest, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
Essays can be submitted by individuals up to 25 years old (as of June 15, 2024) in the following age categories:
- Children (up to 14 years old)
- Youth (15 – 25 years old)
Essays should be 700 words or less in English or French, or 1600 characters or less in Japanese. Typed essays must include the author’s name and essay title at the top of the first page.
There are no specific rules for formatting (font style, size, line space, etc.), but essays must be submitted in either MS Word (DOC/DOCX) or PDF format.
Essays must be original and unpublished; plagiarized entries will be rejected.
Entries containing plagiarized or generative AI (such as ChatGPT) content will be rejected.
Essays must be authored by an individual; co-authored essays are not accepted.
Rewards for the Goi Peace Foundation Essay Contest: The following prizes will be awarded to the contest winners:
1st Prize (1 entrant): Certificate, a prize of 100,000 Yen (approximately US$740 as of Feb. 2023), and a gift.
2nd Prize (3 entrants): Certificate, a prize of 50,000 Yen (approximately US$370 as of Feb. 2023), and a gift.
3rd Prize (5 entrants): Certificate and a gift.
Honorable Mention: Certificate and a gift.
