Are you a young African woman passionate about peacebuilding?
This fellowship program is designed for you, especially if you come from a country affected by conflict. The program equips African women with the skills and knowledge to become leaders in peace and security efforts.
About the Fellowship
- Aims to develop African-led solutions for peace and security.
- Aligns with UN, AU, and SDG goals on women, peace, and development.
- Challenges traditional views on conflict and security

Program Structure
- Phase 1 (12 months):
- Live and study at King’s College London
- Participate in group mentoring sessions with peacebuilding professionals.
- Conduct research on peace, security, and development in Africa.
- Visit relevant academic and policy institutions.
- Phase 2 (6 months):
- Work as a faculty member at a university or research center in Africa.
- Contribute to research and policy development.
- Conduct your own research project on a peacebuilding topic.
- Disseminate your research findings through publications and presentations.
Eligibility
- Female citizen of an African country (priority given to those from conflict zones)
- Valid travel documents
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree (additional experience a plus)
- Experience or knowledge of women’s rights and gender issues.
- Commitment to peacebuilding in Africa and a clear plan for using your learnings.
- Research skills related to peace, security, and development.
- Commitment to program values: African-led solutions, independent thinking, integrity, excellence, youth leadership, and diversity
- Actionable plan for applying your fellowship knowledge back home.
- Fluency in written and spoken English (English proficiency test required)
