AFRICA NURSING SCHOLARSHIP 2023/2024

he Africa Nursing Scholarship program offers financial support to nursing students in Africa. It covers fees and living stipends for scholars pursuing nursing studies, research, travel, and conference attendance. Administered by the African Palliative Care Association (APCA) and FHSSA, the scholarship honors Kath Defilippi, a pioneer in hospice and palliative care in Africa. Scholarships, up to $4,000 per person, are awarded annually through a competitive process.

Priority is given to registered and enrolled nurses seeking formal palliative care training in Africa. The fund may also support distance learning master’s programs and conference travel.

Training opportunities covered include bachelor’s degrees, diplomas, initiator courses, and nurse prescriber training. Additionally, the fund may sponsor nurses to present at conferences.

Applicants must be practicing nurses in Africa, with confirmation of continued practice post-training, and must have applied for their chosen course.
