Goethe-Institut Up4Jobs Scholarship Program for young Egyptian university graduates and job seekers

Applications are now open for the 2024 Goethe-Institut Up4Jobs Program. The Up4Jobs program offers scholarships to promote the German language, as well as soft skills training to increase the employment opportunities of project participants with German or international companies in Egypt in the IT sector. In addition, two job fairs per year are organized for students of the Up4Jobs program, which enable Up4Jobs students to be employed in German companies in Egypt.

Requirements

To have the chance to work for a German company in Egypt, you need the following:

1. German language skills at level B2/C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

​​2. Intercultural skills and soft skills that you can acquire through the special training courses of the Up4Jobs program

  • As a participant in the Up4Jobs program, you can take German language courses both on-site and digitally at the Goethe-Institut in Cairo or Alexandria to improve your German language skills. The time it takes to complete a language level is 10-17 weeks, depending on your level of knowledge. The courses are in the morning, afternoon or evening and 2-3 times a week. If you complete the language courses with at least a good grade, there is a possibility that you will be supported with the Up4Jobs scholarship for several consecutive courses.
  • The scholarships funded by the BMZ cover 90% of the costs of the German courses and also offer the opportunity to participate in professional and cultural training courses, language cafés and job fairs in Egypt.
  • Please note that all applicants must take a German placement test before the program starts.

Eligibility

  1. The scholarship offer is aimed exclusively at Egyptian citizens.
  2. University graduates of the faculties of engineering, mechatronics, technical computer science, computer science, mass communication, German studies, Alsun, languages, literature, sociology, the faculty of economics and political science and ITI certificate holders.
  3. You are a job seeker with professional experience and would like to work for a German company in Egypt in the IT sector or customer service.
  4. Depending on the program phase, you will have a German certificate at level A2, B1 or B2. This can be issued either by the Goethe Institute or another certified language course provider.
  5. You are 30 years old or younger.
  6. Male applicants must be exempt from military service or have already completed it.

Application Procedure:

Required application documents for Phase 7

  1. Please fill out the online registration form.
  2. Copy of identity card or Egyptian passport.
  3. Proof of your German language level, either level  A2 , B1 or B2 , through a certificate from the Goethe-Institut or another certified language course provider.
  4. University degree certificate from the above-mentioned faculties or current certificate of enrollment.
  5. For job seekers: certificate from the last employer.
  6. Declaration of commitment before the start of the course to fully complete the German courses and the soft skills training.
