Zulum confirms receipt of N4.4bn for Borno flood recovery efforts

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has confirmed the receipt of N4.4 billion in donations as part of the relief funds following the recent flooding in the state.

Zulum disclosed this on Monday while inaugurating the disbursement committee for the relief packages for the flood victims at the council chamber of the Government House in Maiduguri, the state capital.

The flooding, which occurred on 10 September, caused significant destruction to homes, infrastructure, and agricultural lands, displacing thousands of families across the state.

The governor stated, “So far, we acknowledge a pledge of N13,195,500,000. However, as of yesterday (Sunday), we have received a total of N4,441,494,902.81. All allocations to this account will be made public in due course.”
