Suspected terrorist dies in bomb attempt

A yet-to-be-identified 50-year-old man was killed in an explosion in Tel Aviv with a passerby sustaining injuries.

The Shin Bet is actively involved in the investigation and the police are considering all possible motives, including terrorism.

The explosion which occurred on Sunday night damaged a truck with police confirming that the man himself had carried the device, Haaretz reports.

Tel Aviv District Commander, Superintendent Peretz Amar, stated at the scene that identifying the man is crucial to determining whether the explosion was criminal or terrorist in nature.
