2024 UBC Global South Scholars Program
The University of British Columbia (UBC) welcomes applications for the UBC Global South Scholars Programme from eligible and interested scholars residing in Global South Countries. This fully-funded fellowship offers visiting scholars $15,000 to cover travel, accommodation, and honorarium expenses.
Program Details: The 2024 UBC Global South Scholars Program will be hosted by the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. This initiative aims to host an outstanding scholar from the Global South for a short-term, fully funded visiting scholar in-residence program.
The primary objective is to enhance the research capabilities of the Law School, particularly in the specified area, and promote academic exchange and new research avenues among Allard faculty members and international collaborators. Furthermore, the program aims to enrich the resources of international partners.
Duration and Rewards: The successful Global South Visiting Scholar (GSVS) will reside for a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of one term. Funding provided will cover travel to Vancouver and accommodation, not exceeding $15,000, along with an honorarium of approximately $10,000. The total funding of $25,000 will be contingent on the duration of the residency. Visiting scholars will benefit from shared office space at the law school, library access, and a faculty host during their stay.
