FG APPROVES 25% AND 35% SALARY INCREASE FOR CIVIL SERVANTS

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved salary increases ranging from 25% to 35% for Civil Servants across six remaining Consolidated Salary Structures. NTA reports stressed these structures include the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS), Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure (CONRAISS), Consolidated Police Salary Structure (CONPOSS), Consolidated Para-military Salary Structure (CONPASS), Consolidated Intelligence Community Salary Structure (CONICCS), and Consolidated Armed Forces Salary Structure (CONAFSS).

The salary increases, effective from January 1st, 2024, also apply to pensioners on the Defined Benefits Scheme associated with these six consolidated salary structures.

Previously, salary increases were implemented for those in the Tertiary Education and Health Sectors. This involved structures such as the Consolidated University Academic Salary Structure (CONUASS), Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure (CONTISS), Consolidated Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Salary Structure (CONPCASS), Consolidated Tertiary Educational Institutions Salary Structure (CONTEDISS), Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS), and Consolidated Health Sector Salary Structure (CONHESS).

Emmanuel Njoku, the head of Press at the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission (NSIWC), confirmed the salary increases and pension adjustments, effective from January 1st, 2024.
