UNITED NATIONS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM 2024
The United Nations Fellowship Program offers an intensive human rights training for individuals of African descent and from the diaspora who are actively engaged in promoting the rights of people of African descent.
DETAILS OF UNITED NATIONS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM 2024:
- The program aims to strengthen participants’ skills to contribute to the promotion and protection of civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights of people of African descent.
- Participants are equipped with tools to develop legislation, policies, and programs, enhance collaboration between civil society and governments, and conduct local awareness-raising activities.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for the United Nations Fellowship Program, applicants must:
- Be individuals of African descent living in the diaspora.
- Have a minimum of 4 years of work experience related to the rights of People of African Descent.
- Submit a letter from an organization working on issues related to people of African Descent or minority rights certifying their status.
- Be available to attend the full duration of the program and participate in all activities.
BENEFITS OF UNITED NATIONS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM 2024:
- Each fellow is entitled to a return ticket (economy class) from their country of residence to Geneva.
- Basic health insurance coverage is provided.
- A stipend is provided to cover modest accommodation and living expenses for the duration of the program.
- The Fellowship will be held from 11 November to 29 November 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland.
- Fellows are expected to dedicate a few hours to pre-online courses and preparatory assignments in the two weeks preceding the program.
