Applications are now open for the 2024/2025 NDDC Post-Graduate Foreign Scholarships Programme.

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is offering postgraduate scholarships to deserving young Nigerians from the Niger Delta region.

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is relaunching its Foreign Post-Graduate Scholarship Programme! This initiative aims to invest in the future of the Niger Delta region by equipping young people with the skills and training they need to thrive.

Scholarships will be awarded to support qualified individuals in pursuing postgraduate studies abroad, allowing them to:

  • Gain valuable expertise in their chosen fields.
  • Contribute effectively to the local content program of the Federal Government.
  • Compete at a global level in their chosen professions.

This program represents the NDDC’s commitment to fostering human resource development within the Niger Delta region.

Eligibility:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen from the Niger Delta region
  • Possess a First Class or Second Class Upper/Lower degree
  • Not be more than 40 years old

Who Can Apply?

  • Applicants must be from the Niger Delta region.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in one of the following fields: Agricultural Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geosciences, Information Technology, Medical Sciences, or Law.
  • Have achieved a First Class, Second Class Upper, or Second Class Lower Division in their undergraduate studies.
  • Be no older than 40 years old.

Selection Process:

  1. Online Application: Interested candidates must submit an application electronically through the NDDC website.
  2. Preliminary Shortlisting: Applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:
    • Results from the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations
    • Classification of your undergraduate degree (First Class, Second Class Upper, Second Class Lower)
    • Local Government Identification
  3. Computer-Based Test: Shortlisted candidates will take a computer-based test administered by NDDC consultants in Rivers State. A minimum score of 70% is required to proceed to the next stage.
  4. Further Shortlisting: Candidates who pass the test will be further shortlisted.
  5. Final Verification: The final verification of shortlisted candidates will be conducted through their Local Government Area (LGA) and Community Development Committee (CDC).

Scholarship Details:

The scholarship amount will be determined based on the current exchange rate of the Nigerian Naira.

This program provides a valuable opportunity for young people from the Niger Delta region to pursue advanced studies abroad and gain the skills needed to contribute to the region’s economic and social development.
