ABEM EMERGENCY MEDICINE FELLOWSHIP
The American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) offers a variety of fellowship opportunities, including Emergency Medical Services, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and other subspecialties. These fellowships provide specialized training in various aspects of emergency medicine, and successful completion of the fellowship may lead to subspecialty certification through ABEM.

Certification Process
Physicians seeking certification in these subspecialties must complete an ACGME-approved fellowship program or fulfill the eligibility criteria of the Dual Certification pathway. They must also actively participate in ABEM’s continuing certification process and fulfill the ABEM Policy on Medical Licensure.

Timeline
Fellowships will be awarded in odd years.
- March 2025 | Call for nominations opens
- June 2025 | Nomination packets are due at 3:00pm ET
- July 2025 | Awardee is notified
- September 2025 | Fellow orientation week at the NAM is held
- October 2025 | Fellow is introduced to the Membership at the NAM Annual Meeting
