BUILD GLFX CHAPTERS IN AFRICA WITH SEED FUNDING
The Global Landscapes Forum (GLFx) initiative, in collaboration with the Robert Bosch Foundation, is calling for applications to support five new GLFx chapters with seed funding of EUR 5,000 each to restore the greater Sahel region in Africa. This initiative is designed to accelerate global action by empowering individuals and groups with the necessary knowledge, technology, and networks to connect, share, learn, and act through a holistic approach in their local landscapes.
About GLFx Chapters
GLFx chapters are responsible for hosting regular multi-stakeholder gatherings to mobilize their community, curating an online space for exchange on the GLFx platform, and supporting one or more action projects each year.
Benefits for Selected Chapters
The selected chapters will receive:
- Seed funding of €5,000 to run chapter activities
- Community mobilization training
- Workshops and/or toolkits to facilitate the implementation of a community action plan
- Support from the GLFx Secretariat in key areas
- Connection to and support from GLF charter members in their region and the GLFx chapter network
- Promotional opportunities, such as profiles in the Landscape News online journal and speaking engagements
Eligibility Criteria
Applications will be accepted from groups/teams based in the 23 countries that share (part of) their territory with the greater Sahel region. These groups/teams should be well organized with due consideration given to diversity (e.g., gender balance). A dynamic, passionate chapter coordinator and team members committed to achieving sustainable landscapes are required.
Application Process
Applicants should sign up to the GLFx platform, prepare the application questions, and fill out the online application form.
Selection Process
All eligible applications will be evaluated in two rounds, involving community mobilization and expert evaluation. The final selection will be based on the scores from the first and second rounds.
