IRENE YAMAMOTO ARTS WRITERS FELLOWSHIP at [THE DEMOCRACY CENTER]
The Daniel K. Inouye National Center for the Preservation of Democracy (Democracy Center) is accepting applications for the Irene Yamamoto Arts Writers Fellowship (Yamamoto Fellowship). This fellowship aims to encourage emerging writers of color in the arts to offer insights from their cultural and political perspectives, thus diversifying and enhancing cultural criticism. The fellowship will be granted to two (2) emerging writers of color who specialize in critically analyzing theater, dance, and/or performance art. Each recipient will receive an unrestricted award of $5,000 to be utilized over a six-month period. The Yamamoto Fellowship will rotate its focus on different artistic disciplines annually.
