DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA SCHOLARSHIPS

The Centre of African Studies (CAS) is inviting applications from Africans for MA, MSc, and PhD scholarships under the Governance for Development in Africa Initiative, funded by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation.

Eligibility and Application Process:

To be considered for funding, applicants must first secure a place for the MA, MSc, or PhD by applying directly to the relevant academic department.

Candidates will undergo assessment based on academic merit by a panel of reviewers.

The evaluation of applications will focus on:

  • Academic performance and evidence of critical analytical skills.
  • References.
  • Supporting statement.
  • Demonstration of interest in and understanding of the connections between governance and development.

It’s important to note that CAS reserves the right not to award scholarships, and they will only be granted to applicants who meet high academic standards and show clear interests in fields relevant to the objectives of the GDAI.

Deadline:

The application deadline is April 30th. It’s recommended to apply for admission well in advance of this date to ensure an offer of admission before the scholarship deadline.
