ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS AT USIU UNIVERSITY KENYA 2023

Academic scholarships at USIU University Kenya: United States International University (USIU) has provided financial assistance to numerous students. New scholarship opportunities are now being offered to Kenyan citizens interested in undergraduate studies in International Relations, Journalism and Psychology, Business Administration, Accounting, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Information Systems and Technology, International Business Administration, Tourism Management, and Criminal Justice and graduate studies in Counseling Psychology and International Relations effective September.

Academic scholarships at USIU University Kenya – Undergraduate scholarships:

  1. Freshmen scholarships for the Best Students in the Province

No. of scholarships: 8

The scholarships shall be awarded on merit to one top student from each province of Kenya.

The scholarship will cover 25% tuition costs beginning Fall Semester (September)

Requirements: C+ and above in KCSE

  1. Full USIU Scholarship for the Bachelor’s Degree

No. of scholarships: 2

The scholarships cover the cost of tuition, room and board, books and computer lab fees beginning Fall Semester (September). Recipients must meet other expenses such as Medical and Student Affairs Council (SAC) fees.

Requirements: B+ and above in KCSE and demonstrate academic and leadership achievements and must be financially needy.

  1. Scholarships for the Physically Challenged

No. of scholarships: 2

The scholarships are academic merit based and cover full tuition costs effective Fall Semester (September)

Requirements: C+ and above in KCSE

  1. Scholarships for the Underrepresented Communities

No. of scholarships: 2

Scholarships are for the underrepresented and underprivileged bright students from Arid and Semi Arid Regions of Kenya (ASAL) and one similar scholarship for applicants from the Informal settlements in the neighborhood of USIU and cover full tuition only.

Requirements: C+ and above in KCSE

  1. Public Service Scholarship

25% Tuition Scholarships will be awarded to ten (10) Kenyan civil servants seeking to pursue their Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at USIU.

Applicants for this scholarship must in addition to requirements listed below provide a letter from their immediate Supervisors or Departmental Heads.

Application requirements for undergraduate scholarships:

Applicants must submit their applications to the USIU Financial Aid Office by May 20th Applications must be accompanied with the following – application letter, copies of the relevant certificates and transcripts (certified by Head teacher), school leaving certificate, a reference letter from the Principal or Head Teacher, an essay detailing your background information and degree you wish to pursue and the reasons why you deserve the scholarship. Academic scholarships at USIU University Kenya – Graduate scholarships:

  1. 25% Public Service Scholarships

These are scholarships for qualified Civil Servants who wish to pursue Masters Degrees in Counseling Psychology OR International Relations in USIU.

There are six scholarships for each of these programs to be awarded on merit basis.

  1. 25% MBA Scholarships

There are six scholarships to be awarded on merit basis to those seeking to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree at USIU.

Consideration will be given to applicants who attain a GMAT score of 550 or better.

Scholarship application requirements:

Have a first degree from an accredited university with a GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. Provide Graduate Record Examination (GRE) index score of 1700 or better (Counseling Psychology and International Relations). Provide Two written confidential recommendation letters (Forms available from the USIU Admissions office or downloaded from USIU’s website.) Provide official transcripts from accredited institutions attended. Completed a Graduate Admissions Application Form (Available from the USIU Admissions office or downloaded from USIU’s website). Applicants for the Public Service Scholarships must provide an approval letter from their immediate Supervisors or Departmental Heads and a copy of appointment letter. Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and International Relations programs have a Single intake per year (September).
