Are you looking to acquire the knowledge and skills to foster positive change in the world? Join a network of peace and development leaders and pursue either a fully funded master’s degree or a fully funded postgraduate diploma at one of the Rotary Peace Centers situated at premier universities globally.
About the Rotary Peace Fellowship Up to 130 fellows from diverse communities worldwide will be chosen to receive a fully funded fellowship aimed at gaining advanced skills and knowledge in peace studies, sustainable development, and conflict transformation.
Over 1,700 program alumni are actively engaged in leadership roles in national governments, non-governmental organizations, education and research, human rights law, media and arts, and international organizations, including the United Nations, across more than 140 countries.
What are my program options? Rotary Peace Fellows can pursue one of two programs:
- Master’s degree
- 15-24 month on-campus program with small-group classroom learning in various fields related to peace and development
- Designed for young professionals at the early stages of their careers
- 50 fellows annually selected to study at one of five Rotary Peace Centers at partner universities in Asia, Australia, Europe, and the U.S.
- Includes a 2-3 month field study experience to develop practical skills and career connections
- Provides access to a global network of international peace fellows, thought leaders, and Rotary members
- Professional Development Certificate
- Yearlong program tailored for working professionals, integrating online learning, in-person classes, and an independent project
- Geared towards social change leaders with a minimum of five years of experience in peace and development-related fields
- 80 fellows selected annually to earn a postgraduate diploma at partner universities in Africa and Turkey
- Comprises an online preliminary course, 10 weeks of on-site courses with field studies and cultural experiences, a nine-month period to implement a social change initiative, and a capstone seminar
Fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and internship and field-study expenses.
How do I qualify? Qualified candidates must:
- Have three years of relevant work experience for the master’s program
- Have five years of relevant work experience for the certificate program
- Be proficient in English
- Hold a bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrate leadership skills and academic achievement
- Exhibit a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace
Candidates must have at least three years between the completion of their most recent academic degree program (undergraduate or graduate degree) and the intended start date for the fellowship. Candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program are not eligible to apply.
