AstraZeneca seeks emerging leaders worldwide, aged 18-30, dedicated to advocating in key areas:
- Enhancing Health Equity and Access: Focused on narrowing health gaps and improving outcomes, especially for marginalized youth. Emphasis on advancing gender equity in healthcare for girls and women.
- Climate Impact on Health: Advocacy to mitigate climate change’s adverse effects on young people’s health and well-being.
- Health System Strengthening: Promoting robust, equitable health systems, prioritizing youth-centric resources, and fostering collaboration among health system stakeholders.
The Young Health Programme (YHP), part of AstraZeneca’s commitment to sustainable healthcare, targets individuals aged 10 to 24 in under-resourced settings. It addresses common non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and respiratory ailments through community initiatives, research, and advocacy.
The YHP Impact Fellowship empowers youth to develop skills, knowledge, and networks, inspiring them to amplify their impact in health equity. Key focus areas include:
- Enhancing healthcare access
- Strengthening health systems
- Addressing climate-health challenges
- Cultivating the next generation of health leaders and advocates
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age 18-30
- Proficiency in English
- Open to nationals of all countries
- Full participation in the One Young World Summit in Montreal, Canada (17-22 September 2024)
- Willingness to contribute insights, co-create commitments, foster partnerships, and act as ambassadors for AZ’s health equity and YHP initiatives
- Access to the internet and personal device for online Fellowship sessions
