LEADERSHIP 2023 CONFERENCE AND AWARDS HOLDS TODAY
The much-anticipated Leadership 2023 Conference and Awards is scheduled to take place today, March 5, 2024, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotels in Abuja, starting at 10 am.
The 15th edition of this annual event, organized by Nigeria’s influential newspaper, expects the presence of distinguished guests, including governors, legislators, members of the diplomatic corps, and elder statesmen.
The keynote address for this year’s conference, themed “An Economy In Distress: Which Way Forward?” will be delivered by former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and renowned political economist, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu. Moghalu, a presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the 2019 general election, will join other discussants in brainstorming solutions for the current economic crisis in the nation.
According to a statement by the editor-in-chief/senior vice-chairman of Leadership Newspapers Group, Mr. Azubuike Ishiekwene, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be the special guest of honour, and FCT minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, will serve as the chairman of the occasion/chief host. The chairman of Leadership Group Ltd, Mrs. Zainab Nda-Isaiah, will act as the host, and the royal father of the day will be the Etsu Nupe, His Royal Highness, Dr. Abubakar Yahaya.
Following the tradition laid down by the founding chairman of the newspaper group, the late Sam Nda-Isaiah, the selection of awardees involves a critical review of notable Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in various fields, contributing to the growth and development of the country.
In addition to attending as the special guest of honour, President Tinubu will be honored with the Leadership Person of the Year award for overcoming significant challenges to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket and subsequently winning the keenly contested 2023 presidential election.
