ANAMBRA TRADERS URGE SOLUDO TO FORM CARETAKER MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

Traders at Odera Shopping Complex/Market in Awka, Anambra State, have appealed to the state governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, to appoint a caretaker management committee to oversee the market’s operations for a temporary period. This request comes after the Anambra State Task Force on Internal Revenue Service (AIRS) unsealed the market on Sunday. The initial sealing occurred on Saturday due to members’ failure to settle their taxes with the government. The traders suggest that having a caretaker committee for a few months would facilitate the necessary preparations for the subsequent election of market officers.
